About OCHA

Off-Campus Housing Affairs (OCHA) is a program funded by the Associated Students of the University of Washington's. OCHA is a housing resource created by students to act as the resource between landlords and future tenants. We aim to provide students, faculty, and staff with the tools necessary to educate themselves about housing issues so they may be better equipped to find adequate housing. Our process is governed by both the City of Seattle & State of Washington Landlord-Tenant Acts and Equal Housing Opportunity laws.

To assist area landlords, OCHA provides a source of market information and provide such details on local area rent prices, other marketing outlets. OCHA also acts as the final editor in the ad approval process, always upholding the City of Seattle Landlord-Tenant Act.

To provide for students, faculty, and staff, we provide informed suggestions on housing situations, ideal neighborhoods, and resources on proper rental procedure. We also act as advocates on behalf of tenants rights and work to educate leaseholders on such rights.
